I believe Bernie is about to send to the list his famous biased Worldnet reports so I thought I would just add my comments.
I will leave all the individual players marks to Bernie but here is what I thought of
Worldnet this year.
IT WAS A VERY SUCCESSFUL TOURNAMENT!!!
We went the furthest ever in our five year history and once more we have lost to a team that either won or reached the final as Stockport did once more.
This is the 3rd year running we have qualified for the trophy competiton but this year we achieved it after only 2 games and in those 2 games we didn't concede or really look like we were going to concede a goal and
scored 4 in reply and I am pretty sure that if we had needed to we would have got a result against QPR as well.
As we all know every player played some part of the first two games and this showed me that this year we had a good strong squad and I believe that this was the main reason why we did so well, the whole squad contributed to the team's success.
We had a mixture of experience with most players playing in their 3rd/4th Worldnet (or more in some cases!) but we also had some exciting Worldnet debutants in Lee Stone/Luke Holyoake/Ian Thomson and Damon Hockett as well.
The Foxes also played their first European opposition in the friendly against Lens and once more the game was played in the right way ie everyone was in their wrong positions so I hope everyone enjoyed that game.
I must also thank Sue,Neil and Bob and the non starting players for their support of the team in each game especially in that attrociuos weather.
I hope everyone enjoyed the Worldnet weekend again this year and like me felt very proud to have achieved a quarter final place - it was a fantastic feeling to beat Watford but now we have set ourselves a very high standard for next year!!
So another season is about to start on the 7th August and the planning for next years Worldnet starts all over again.
